Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes at Valor BJJ are broken into two separate class sessions and classes are offered both with and without the GI.
Drill Class: Drill class is for students of all levels, but is geared towards the basic and fundamental techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. During this class there is no live sparring and the time is spent both learning new techniques to add to your game, and sharpening the fundamental movements and skills required to be a successful BJJ practitioner. The second session is Advanced Class.
Advanced Class: Advanced Class incorporates live sparring, or rolling as we refer to it, to help develop the timing and reactions required to successfully apply the techniques against a fully resisting opponent. More advanced techniques are introduced and drilled during this portion of the class. Students are not required to attend advanced class and we recommend students take their time before rolling live to ensure they have a technique base to call upon during the roll.
